Big Bass Bonanza
Big Bass Bonanza is one of those games I keep coming back to when I only have a minute or two. The whole thing is built around a cheerful fishing theme — lots of splashy animations, a friendly angler who reacts to what happens on screen, and a soundtrack that stays out of the way. There's no long tutorial; you understand what to do almost immediately, which I appreciate.
Controls are pure touch: quick taps and the occasional swipe, and the tap targets are big enough that I never misfire even one-handed on the couch. The pacing is gentle, so it never feels stressful. I ran it on an older phone and it stayed cool and smooth, and battery drain was very light thanks to how simple the visuals are underneath the sparkle.
My only nitpick is that the loop gets repetitive if you play for a long stretch — this is very much a short-burst game rather than something you sit with for an hour. Taken on those terms, it's charming and polished, and the reef backgrounds are genuinely nice to look at.
