Hollow Lantern

★★★★★ 4.7 Editor rating

Hollow Lantern is slow in the best way. You wander a hand-painted valley, solving small environmental puzzles and lighting old lanterns to push back the dark. There's almost no combat; the tension comes from atmosphere and curiosity.

The controls are a single tap-to-move plus a hold gesture to interact, and it works beautifully on a touchscreen. Everything is designed for one hand and unhurried play. Battery life is excellent because the art is stylised rather than heavy on effects — I got through a whole commute without denting my charge.

It's short, maybe four or five hours, and I loved every one of them. If you want something calm to end the day with, this is it.
