The best games for a two-minute break

Some of my favourite mobile games are the ones I never spend more than a few minutes with at a time. They're built around interruption. You can put the phone down mid-turn and come back later without losing anything.

The key features are quick loading, generous auto-save, and a loop that pays off fast. A game that makes me sit through a cutscene before I can play is not a break — it's a commitment.

Casual tappers are the classic pick here, but plenty of strategy and sim games work too if their auto-save is good. I keep a little rotation of these on my home screen precisely because they never demand more than I have to give.
